'Nursing informatics is the specialty that transforms data into needed information and leverages technologies to improve health and health care equity, safety, quality, and outcomes.' (ANA, n.d.)

The ANA lists the following professional standards for Nursing Informatics Professionals in a document called 'The Scope of Nursing Informatics Practice' that can be seen here. They are as follows: 

• Management, Administration, and Leadership

• Clinical Informatics

• Data Management and Analytics

• Patient Safety and Quality

• Research and Evaluation

• Compliance and Integrity Management

• Coordination, Consultation, Facilitation, and Integration

Throughout the MSN in Healthcare Informatics program, I was able to develop several projects and/or assignments who serve as evidence of academic and professional growth in these standards. Noted growth also developed at the Programmatic and University level.
