About Me (My Nursing Journey)

I am originally from Brazil and moved to the US on June 2012. I developed an interest in Nursing and became a CNA in 2013, starting work immediately at Missouri Slope, the biggest, independent Nursing Home in Bismarck, ND. In 2015, Missouri Slope offered CMA classes (certified medication aide) to CNAs that demonstrated professionalism and excellent performance. I applied and was able to attend these classes, which culminated with me obtaining a CMA II license. After working as a CMA II/CNA for two more years, I was accepted into my first nursing program at Northland Community and Technical College in Minnesota. Upon completion, I became an LPN in May 2018. Shortly after that, I was accepted into University of Mary's LPN to BSN program, ultimately becoming an RN in August 2021. As my proven commitment to lifelong learning, I applied and was accepted into the DNP Family Nurse Practitioner Program at UMary, and completed two years of the program, but needed to switch to a Masters degree due to my limitations related to clinical schedules. After extensive research, I decided to pursue the UMary Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Informatics program, and I am grateful I did, as I only touch the surface of the amazing, endless possibilities that this path has brought me and will continue to bring.
